It all started back in 1985

| After a long stint in the construction
supply business, things were due for a change, and so in April
of 1985 I bought my first Macintosh. The plan was to use it for
the construction related work and to get me started in a new
directions. |
| The Macintosh changed my life. I
used it to start doing project planning and scheduling work that
I had previously been doing for my construction clients. It is
amazing what the little Mac 512 with a 9" screen a floppy
drive and a printer was able to let me do. There was no turning
back. I also got heavily involved in the first lower mainland
Macintosh Users Group. |
| By 1986 I was fully involved doing
construction scheduling and consulting work, including support
of a high end MS-DOS based scheduling program, all from my Mac. |
| I also started working with database software a lot, and started using the first version of FileMaker. It complimented the scheduling process quite well as a way to mange and report on lots of data. |
| In addition to the consulting work
I was doing, I was talked into working at Byte Computers, with
the goal of putting my solutions skills to use for construction
and government clients. From 1991 to 1996 I sold many Mac's by
showing and demonstrating the solutions I was using my Mac for. |
| The Apple training I received while
working at Byte and later Advantage computers added greatly to
my Mac knowledge base. |
| Since 1996 I have been specializing in FileMaker Pro custom data solutions for a wide variety of clients, from construction to non profit groups and others. |
|
Solving user needs is the key.
|
| |
The computer has grown up a lot since
1985, it allows the user to do many things, it is an invaluable
tool, and my goal is to help clients with solutions that help
them manage their work and data on a daily basis. I'd be pleased
to consult with you on your needs.
